Uttarakhand mantri who stirred row with 'pahadi' remark resigns

DEHRADUN: Uttarakhand finance and urban development minister Premchand Aggarwal resigned on Sunday weeks after creating controversy over his ‘Pahadi’ remarks, reports Gaurav Talwar. He announced his decision to resign at a press conference in Dehradun, after which he visited CM Pushkar Singh Dhami’s official residence and submitted his resignation.
His resignation came after he said the “state does not belong exclusively to the ‘pahadis’ (hill people)” during the state budget session created uproar across the state and within the governing BJP.
