Wagh Bakri Foundation has contributed nine specialised delivery vehicles to ‘The Akshaya Patra Foundation’, ensuring the delivery of meals of 10,500 children across over 205 government schools and Anganwadis in various locations in Hyderabad and Nellore.

Each of its trucks are temperature-controlled to maintain the freshness and safety of meals, with custom-built compartments to efficiently transport large volumes of food. They are designed to navigate diverse terrains, ensuring that even remote schools receive meals on time.

The vehicles are fuel-efficient and in many cases, eco-friendly, contributing to sustainability goals. These are for streamlining Akshaya Patra meal distribution programme to cover extensive geographical areas and serve the 22.5 lakhs children every day.

Noted TV personality Suma Kanakala and brand ambassador, CEO Sanjay Singhal, senior VP Yogesh Shinde, Head-South PV Suresh, CSR-Head Ajay Ciciliya of Wagh Bakri Tea Group, alongside Akshaya Patra Foundation VP Yagneshwar Dasa, flagged-off the new electric delivery vehicles. Currently, Akshaya Patra does 1,76,073 meals in TG and 1,44,732 meals in AP every day, respectively, said a press release.
