The coalition government will put pressure on the Central government against the proposed Waqf Amendment Bill, Andhra Pradesh Waqf Board Chairman Abdul Azeez said during an Eidgah at Bara Shaheed Dargah in Nellore on the occasion of Ramzan on Monday. Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy also participated in the special prayers.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Aziz said, “Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will take responsibility to protect the interests of the Muslim community. The amendments to the Waqf Bill have not been fully tabled and the coalition government will not encourage issues that will hurt the sentiments of Muslims.”

“We have already discussed about the Waqf Amendment Bill with Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. We will speak to him once again,” he added.
