Unable to bear the burden of a loan, a woman ended her life at Halliyuru in Alur taluk of Hassan district in Karnataka, on March 12.

Kenchamma, 52, was found dead at her residence. She is survived by her husband Dyavaiah and two children.

Alur police visited the spot and registered an unnatural death report based on a complaint filed by her family members.

Kenchamma had borrowed money from a microfinance company and from relatives for the marriage of her children. According to her family members, she was worried about repaying the loans.
